July 24, 2015 will forever be etched in my memory. That was my husband's last day of work at his comfortable, yet very stressful manager job. For several months, we had prayed for direction in whether or not he should continue this job and the Lord just kept leading us to no. It was a giant leap of faith as we were expecting our first baby that September. The plan was for Dan to go back to school and get an RN degree to become a nurse. However, those plans fell through. So, Dan started searching for a job.Read More
As I was preparing for baby #2, I also mentally prepared myself for the dreaded 2 AM feeding. While I had always been a night owl, I was not mentally prepared for the round-the-clock feedings with Elli. I was absolutely miserable and tired and hormonal and I just felt like a hot mess. Not to mention, I was terrified that I would fall asleep with her in my arms from exhaustion. The first couple of months were pretty rough-- not going to lie. I finally started getting into a groove by scrolling through Facebook, watching Netflix, or something on TV just to keep me awake. She finally started sleeping through the night around 3.5 months which was right around the time I went back to work, so hallelujah!!!

After I became a mom, it seemed as though there were never enough hours in the day to go shopping. With commuting 90 minutes a day back and forth from work, my days would begin at 6:30 AM and I wouldn't get home again until 6 PM. And by that time, all I wanted to do was eat, play with my baby, hang out with my husband and go to bed. Sometimes, we'd get out on Saturdays, but sometimes, taking our daughter out wasn't always the easiest, especially when we had to work around her eating and napping schedule. Shopping got a little easier when my oldest was a little older, but now that we have two under two, I haven't even tried to go shopping with the both of them. (Actually, I shudder to think about shopping with both of my littles at this point in time!)

I first heard of Kristin Schell through Jamie Ivey and her Happy Hour podcast. Jamie is hosting a summer online book club on Facebook and The Turquoise Table is the book to read for the month of June! As soon as I pulled the book out of the box, I was already intrigued and just jumped right into reading it. And I finished it within two days. It was an easy read AND so good! ...Read More
Our little June bug is here!! Miss Abigail has joined the fam bam and is doing so well! I don't know if it's because she's the second child, but my goodness, this child has been way easier than Elli. She is just as happy as a lark unless she's hungry. And when Abby is hungry, she is HANGRY (like her momma, haha!). Elli is in love with her baby sister and I think they'll be best friends growing up. I am so excited to see what the future holds for us....Read More
