Someone's turning two soon! Ahh! I know I say this all the time, but I can't believe how fast the year has gone! It seems like we were just celebrating Elli's first birthday! *sigh* Anyways, I can't wait to start planning her birthday party! Part of planning Elli's party includes trying to figure out gifts for her that are NOT toys. Because good gracious, she's not even two and it seems like Toy Story seems to explode and take over my living room.

So what better gift is there than a good book? One can never have too many books! Elli loves her little books! And I am a firm believer in reading books to your child. Some of these books are "Elli-approved" and others I thought would be fun to add to her collection.

July 24, 2015 will forever be etched in my memory. That was my husband's last day of work at his comfortable, yet very stressful manager job. For several months, we had prayed for direction in whether or not he should continue this job and the Lord just kept leading us to no. Four Ways to Survive the 2 AM Feeding

As I was preparing for baby #2, I also mentally prepared myself for the dreaded 2 AM feeding. While I had always been a night owl, I was not mentally prepared for the round-the-clock feedings with Elli. I was absolutely miserable and tired and hormonal and I just felt like a hot mess. Not to mention, I was terrified that I would fall asleep with her in my arms from exhaustion. The first couple of months were pretty rough-- not going to lie. I finally started getting into a groove by scrolling through Facebook, watching Netflix, or something on TV just to keep me awake. She finally started sleeping through the night around 3.5 months which was right around the time I went back to work, so hallelujah!!!
