Then, I ran. I ran out the door, took off my shoes and ran across the campus to my car. I jumped in my car and suddenly felt very nervous.
"Here goes nothing." I untied the aqua colored ribbon and opened the final box.
Inside was a dollar and a rolled up scroll.
"Today will be a wonderful day. I need you to drive right now to Pensacola Beach and park near the giant water tower. Once you are parked, walk straight down to the water... Love, Dan."
"Kaycee, I never would have thought four years ago we would be sitting here enjoying this beautiful day on Pensacola Beach. Then, I have given you the past. Yesterday, I gave you the present."At this point unexpected tears started to well up in my eyes. (It must be a rule that girls have to cry when they get engaged.)
Dan got out of his chair, knelt on one knee and said, "Today, I give you the future. Kaycee, will you marry me?"
As I laughed and cried, I said, "Are you serious?!"
He put the ring on my finger, and I said, "YES!"
The rest of the evening was spent talking about the events leading up to this moment and talking about the future. Dan took me to the Grand Marlin for dinner to celebrate our engagement. It was one of the best days ever.
What's your proposal story? I'd love to hear about it!
