Y'all. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of events! Let's start with my From Miss to Mrs. Link Up fail. Two weeks ago, I missed the link up because I had the crud and I failed to pre-schedule my post. When I finally felt better, I spent a couple hours on perfecting my post for the link up. I mean, I spent time on some details and pictures, and it was one of my favorite posts! I *thought* I clicked save and publish. Either pregnancy brain hit or something, but late the next day as I was going to update my Twitter feed, I realized that my post didn't even go through!! I checked my dashboard, and sure enough. GONE. Guys, this was the worst feeling ever! So, I have to start over again. Pooh. Then, we had family in town, and I am now getting back into the swing of things. Hopefully, I can catch up on the wedding link up posts in the next couple of weeks.
So, what did I learn?
Write out posts in advance and make sure that they are SAVED.
Double check that the posts are saved. Basically, press save every five minutes.
Life interferes with blogging and that's okay!
And that's the story of my link up fail if anyone was wondering.
As far as the rest of my life...
My in-laws came to town and brought our nieces which was awesome! My husband and I just love those girls and since we don't see them very often, it's always special when we get to spend time with them.
One special event we planned was our gender reveal. We had a cookout at my parents house and I polled my friends and family on what they thought the baby would be. We had twelve votes for a boy, four votes for a girl, one undecided, and one who said triplets. (My brother-in-law is a goober. :-) ) After burgers and hot dogs, we gave my nieces the cupcakes which had either pink or blue inside. The one time I was counting on Little K to chomp into the cupcake, she decided to be all lady-like and eat the top of the frosting first. Big K knew exactly what to do. She unwrapped her cupcake, took a giant bite and gasped.
It's a GIRL!!!
Everyone was pleasantly surprised! Dan and I were relieved that we didn't have to keep this giant secret anymore. (We've known for a month.)
We also revealed her name that day to our friends and family. But, I'll leave that for a different post, because what's the fun in sharing everything all in one shot?
